Retouching Workshop

Live or online (via Skype or iChat) fashion retouching classes. These sessions focus on post-capture workflow to image-selection to image-editing. Through the use of Lightroom and Photoshop we can cover the post-processing techniques that create the hallmark L U C I M A fashion photography look. Having an archive of full-layered Photoshop files, we can review any existing image that I’ve retouched or show you how to create the same look from scratch. We can also back-solve existing images from other photographers to recreate the same look.

Duration 2 hours. Cost $520.

 

 

Presentation/Retouching Workshop

For fashion photographers and retouchers that want to focus on specific presentations or classroom material, I offer a “presentation-discussion” style fashion photography workshop. These workshops can cover any of the classroom material from my existing fashion photography workshops (e.g. Working with Modeling Agencies, Business of Photography, Black & White Fashion, etc.). In addition, we can discuss lighting techniques, setups, as well as workflow and retouching. Basically, outside of shooting we can cover anything you want about fashion, business, photography and retouching.

Duration 5 hours. Cost $650.

 

 

Shooting/Presentation/Retouching Workshop (no model)

This custom fashion photography workshop is designed for fashion photographers that want to combine live shooting experience  with the Presentation/Retouching workshop experience. Along with everything described above in the Presentation/Retouching workshop, we will also explore the technical and philosophical aspects of creating powerful images via shooting a model. The photographer will bring his/her model of choice. Through demonstration and discussion, we can cover specific skills sets such as model-photographer interaction, wardrobe/makeup choices, lighting setups, camera settings, shooting angles, background choices, ambient vs. strobe vs. combination, indoor/outdoor settings, and more. The focus of this custom fashion photography workshop is to eliminate specific weaknesses by combining live shooting experience with the understanding of the theories behind such practices. The cost of this workshop includes the price of the studio rental along with all the equipment.

Duration 8 hours (including 1 hour break for lunch). Cost $950.

 

 

Shooting/Presentation/Retouching Workshop (with model)

This custom fashion photography workshop offers the Shooting/Presentation/Retouching workshop described above and includes a top-agency model that I have personally worked with. The model increases the value of the workshop via her work experiences, modeling abilities, personal network, and unique look. By using a top-agency fashion model in a L U C I M A fashion photography workshop, the photographer elevates the caliber of the images in his/her portfolio, thereby attracting better clients (and models) in the future.

Duration 8 hours (including 1 hour break for lunch). Cost $1150.

 

 

Shooting/Presentation/Retouching Workshop (with model and makeup)

This custom fashion photography workshop offers the Shooting/Presentation/Retouching workshop described above and includes a top-agency fashion model AND a top-tier fashion makeup artist that I have personally worked with. This private workshop is perfect for the fashion photographer that focuses on beauty and beauty retouching. The makeup artist will work in conjunction with the photographer, the model, and the instructor to create unique looks specific to the photographer’s needs. These looks can include clean, fashion, to avant-garde looks for greater value added to the photographer’s portfolio.

Duration 8 hours (including 1 hour break for lunch). Cost $1400.

 

 

Shooting/Presentation/Retouching Workshop (with model and makeup and wardrobe) STUDIO

This custom fashion photography workshop offers the Shooting/Presentation/Retouching workshop described above and includes a top-agency fashion model AND a top-tier fashion makeup artist AND working fashion wardrobe stylist. While the above workshops focus more on the standard agency looks thereby precluding elaborate wardrobe, this is a workshop designed to create extravagant fashion-forward looks and images for a fashion photographer’s portfolio. Concepts and styles must be discussed in pre-production. This workshop focuses on STUDIO concepts and looks. We will focus on the lighting and looks that I employ for my own studio fashion/editorial portfolio. This workshop leverages different lights, modifiers, backgrounds and various studio props (white box, faux walls, steps, etc.) to create a series of looks that will benefit any photographer’s portfolio.

Duration 9 hours (including 1 hour break for lunch). Cost $1950.

This custom fashion photography workshop offers the Shooting/Presentation/Retouching workshop described above and includes a top-agency fashion model AND a top-tier fashion makeup artist AND working fashion wardrobe stylist. While the above workshops focus more on the standard agency looks thereby precluding elaborate wardrobe, this is a workshop designed to create extravagant fashion-forward looks and images for a fashion photographer’s portfolio. Concepts and styles must be discussed in pre-production. This workshop focuses on LOCATION concepts and looks. With all that Southern California has to offer, it would be a shame not take advantage of all the secret locations that I have been throughout my photography career. Whether it’s the mountains, dry lake bed, beach, or canyons, we can put together a series of stunning location looks to complete any photographer’s portfolio.
